Year 11 Parent Information Event

Important Year 11 Parents Information Event
We strongly encourage all parents to attend the Year 11 Parents Information Evening on Thursday 21st September if at all possible. (The evening runs from 5.30pm to 6.30pm and tea and coffee will be provided).

The first thing you may be asking yourself is why is it so important for parents to attend this evening?
From our experience we know that Year 11 is a challenging year for all students and like you we want your child to have a really successful year so they can be both proud of what they achieve and well prepared and ready to move on to further study, work or apprenticeships.

Your child is going to need your support throughout this year and the aim of the evening is to give you all the information and top tips on how you can best support your child to help them achieve their best. By attending this evening, you will feel in closer partnership with the school and better prepared for what lies ahead.

On the evening you will receive:

• Your child’s mock exam timetable for the practice exams taking place in November.
• A published guide on how to revise that we have purchased for every Year 11.
• Information sheets from every subject your child takes, so you know what your child is doing and where they can find the resources that they need.
• Careers information and support in understanding what routes are available for your child in post-16 education and apprenticeships.

On the evening there will be a short presentation to parents in the hall at 5.30pm and then an opportunity for you to speak to senior staff, subject leaders, heads of house and representatives from local colleges.
We really hope you can attend and look forward to working with you this year to help your child have a successful year that prepares them for their futures.
