Year 7 PD Day - Crystal Tides

6 Dec 23

Year 7 PD Day 2 was focused on British popular Culture, with the goal of raising students Cultural Capital.  Our cultural capital helps form our understanding, knowledge, experiences, thoughts and opinions. It helps us achieve goals, become successful, try different things and share our experiences with others.

This culminated in a performance by local indie rock band Crystal Tides, who feature ex ALNS student Billy Gregory. When asked by a student who it was that influenced him musically when he was younger, Billy stated that working with our very own Music Technician Mr Green was without doubt the biggest influence on him as a musician.

The band played several songs including their hit single 'Headcase' and their latest single 'Detonate', as well as talking to the Year 7s about how hard work and dedication got them to where they are today.

Students loved listening to the band and many remained behind to get photos and autographs with the band.
