Year 9 Trip to Ypres 2026!
On Friday 13th February, a selection of Year 9 students set off to Ypres!
The trip was jam-packed! They attended Essex Farm Cemetery, Yorkshire Trench & Dugouts, Langemark German Cemetery, Harry Patch Memorial, St Julien Memorial, Lijssenthoek Cemetery, Passchendaele Museum, Tyne Cot Cemetery, Hooge Crater Museum and Sanctuary Wood/Hill 62.
Not only this, they attended a deeply moving Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate. We are incredibly proud of our wreath leaders — Aiden, Bella, Poppy and Harley — who represented the school with respect and maturity.
One student said, 'The best bit for me was going to a new country and seeing all of the wonderful museums.'
On their last day, they completed the trip with a stop at Leonidas Chocolate Shop!
We hope everyone had a brilliant time - Thank you to Mr Lapham, Ms Barnes and Miss Suffolk for giving our students an unforgettable experience ????
